Jeff Zisselman on health “Today my wife was reading about ways to avoid breast cancer or at least lower the risk. She was struck by one and share (mind you she is 50 and we do not have a current plan to have children of our own genetics). ‘Hey, it says I should consider breast-feeding…do you think they mean for someone or from someone?’ I just wasn’t quite sue how to respond to that.
“Seriously though, I wish we knew for sure what caused various types of cancer and had definitive answers on how to prevent it. There is so much hype and so much information and misinformation out there. There are of course things we do know; Don’t smoke, there is nothing worse for your health, Don’t work around asbestos or other toxic chemicals, avoid radioactivity (for obvious reasons), and try not to have a family with a history of cancer. Keeping one’s weight down also seems to help with reducing the risk of certain types of cancer (providing you don’t keep your weight down by smoking cigarettes, or by having cancer).
“I think the things we can be sure of are things such as eating good, quality food, regular exercise, living in a clean environment, and positive living and thinking can no doubt benefit us all!
